2017 Australian Cow Dog Sale: Record breaking figures


The first Australian Cow Dog Challenge & Sale was a roaring success, with a 93% overall sale clearance, sales gross of $347,050 and average sale price of $3,615. 

The three-day event, held from the 3-5 November, boasted a prize pool of $18,000 for the trial events on Friday and Saturday. Competitors, vendors and buyers from across Australia attended the event which will no doubt reach even greater heights in 2018.


103 dogs were offered for sale and over 500 people attended the auction on Sunday. 


Top priced open dog: $8,000 - MUNNS JAGGER on account of Kevin Bell sold to Carter, Lindsay & Webber.

Top priced male dog: $9,000 - LAD on account of Ian Cox, who retained the dog for next year's challenge.

Top priced female dog: $11,000 - CRAIGLEA NELL on account of Jamie Sturrock, who retained the dog for next year's challenge.
