Can you believe it is that time of year again, with sale nominations for the 12th Landmark Classic Sale in 2019 opening from the 3rd – 7th September 2018.
The process of nominating sale horses will be the same this year, with all nominations being received online through the Landmark LIVE system via our website.
Once again, we are looking at how we manage entries for all vendors. The Classic remains the only livestock sale Landmark performs where we are oversubscribed by sometimes double the numbers that we can physically manage.
As per previous years, the 2018 Classic will be a select sale where entries will be accepted based on the horses nominated, vendors’ past sale support and sale clearances in previous years.
If you have sold at 1 or 2 previous sales, it is likely you will only be able to present 1 sale horse (due to demand), so please indicate your preference if an additional horse is nominated.
All other returning vendors are welcome to nominate 2 horses, which will then be considered based on previous sales results and the horses submitted.
Sale nomination FAQ
Q.Will the first horses nominated be the first to get in?
No, entries will be open from Monday 3rd September and close Friday 7th September. All entries will be taken in this time, with entries/numbers finalised from there. However – absolutely no late submissions will be considered.
I’m a first time vendor – will I get in and how many horses can I nominate?
We receive huge numbers of nominations each year and always try to accept as many newcomers as possible. This year new vendors are invited to submit 1 sale horse entry only.
I’m a returning vendor – how many horses can I nominate?
Due to demand, returning vendors who have sold at 1 or 2 Classics will most likely only have 1 horse accepted, so please clearly indicate your preference if an additional horse is nominated.
Vendors who have sold at more than 2 Classics are welcome to nominate 2 horses, which will be considered based on previous sales results, clearances and the horses submitted.
What about geldings and stallion restrictions?
Any stallion or colt aged 3 years and over must be sire registered and DNA recorded at the time of nomination. There will also be a limit of one 2 year old male nomination per vendor for the 2019 Classic Sale.
Will I be advised if my entry has been accepted into the sale?
Yes, every vendor will be advised of the outcome of their nomination via email. In the case of a postal entry, we will contact you by telephone.
How many entries will you be taking in 2019?
A maximum of 640 entries will be accepted for the 2019 Classic Sale.
My horse is not registered; will you accept a horse with pending registration?
No. All horses are to be fully registered with AQHA and ASH at the time of nomination. NO pending registrations will be accepted. Performance registered AQHA horses will be considered.
