2018 Toowoomba Supreme Sale Results - Ridden Section

Results from Day 2

The last trucks are rolling out the gate at the Toowoomba Showgrounds as the final day of the 2018 Toowoomba Supreme wraps up. It has been a fantastic 4 days and thank you to our sponsors, Landmark staff, judges, cattle donors and transporters, competitors, vendors and bidders.

Some fantastic buys today with long time Supreme and Classic supporters Brett and Joy Pechey selling the top priced horse of the sale (who was also top priced ridden mare) and top priced ridden gelding. Their beautifully presented lot 235, 3 year old mare “Calinda Miss Leeony Jane” (Smartys High Card x Turners Stud Miss Leeony) really worked a cow for the crowd today and was well bought by J & G Pastoral for $28,000.

Their lot 252, 3 year old gelding “Proud To Be A Frog” (Frogman Henry x Pep N Okie Hope) was a special gelding in the ring today and after some keen bidding was booked up to Landmark Emerald for $18,000.

Graham Amos sold some fantastic quality ridden horses today in his full A1 Training Stables stud dispersal, including lot 266, his imported sire “Catskills” who put on a real show in the arena and was sold later in the day for $25,000.

Graham’s Catskills progeny sold well, topped by lot 272, a nicely prepared 3 year old mare “Sanasha Kitty” (Catskills x Hickaboonsmal) selling for $21,000 to RW & RK King. Thank you to Graham for the opportunity to sell such quality horses - we wish him the best for an enjoyable retirement!

Congratulations to our vendors and successful bidders! Safe travels home and we look forward to seeing you next year!

2018 Toowoomba Supreme Campdraft results

Results from the Saturday night campdraft finals

An exciting night of campdraft finals here at the 2018 Toowoomba Supreme kicked off with the Me-Cow Mechanical Cow Supreme 5&U campdraft.

A talented line up of young horses previously purchased at a Supreme Sale showed off their skills this afternoon, with Shane Corbolt on Brett Small & Belinda Faulkners “Duckster” taking out line honours with a score of 172.

Yasmin Vidler on husband Brads “Crystal Acres” was runner up on 168, edging ahead of Brett Welsh on his “John Chisum” on 167 in 3rd and Andrew Winks on his “Acres of Stars” on 166. Tom Sheilds came in 4th on Brad Sheilds “Ducks Special” with a 160 and Dan Lindley on his “Seligmans Penpal” were 5th with 105.

Next up was the Rosevale Santa Gertrudis 5&U Challenge which saw top quality horsemanship from some of the top Challenge competitors in the country - a tough field of combinations that I'm sure we will see battling it out against each other again throughout the year.

Jon Templeton on Mick and Cass Atkins "Hustler" had a very classy run for a wet work average of 89 and total score of 336.03, proving enough to steer ahead of the field and take the 2018 5&U Challenge title.

2018 Landmark 2YO Challenge winner Michael Wilson was 2nd on the Field Family Partnerships "Nandeye Destinys Dream" with 328.95. Leah Read on Simon and Rachel Fitzhenrys "Daddys Definition" was 3rd on 326.1, Cody Stevens on Jeffrey & Nicole Nairns "Destinys Fancy Panther" was 4th on 324.61, Brett Welsh on his "Allstars Famous Acres" was 5th with 323.26 and Nathan Wilson was 6th aboard Amanda Howies "Acres Limited Edition" with a score of 321.22.

The $8,000 Lemontree Feedlot Masters campdraft was a tight knit competition with just 4 combinations in the final last night.

Joe Payne on Grant Telfords “My T Cat” is the 2018 Masters Champion, taking home the title with a total score of 174. Garry Brown on “Lori” came in 2nd, Tricia Krienke on Hazel Beitzs “Kodak Quickstep” was 3rd and Rob Leach on Dane Batemans “Barragunda Double Destiny” was 4th.

Don’t forget that if you’re in the market for an open aged ridden horse in today’s sale, they are eligible to come back and compete in the Masters Campdraft next year!

The wind was cold in Toowoomba last night but the Leicht's CIA Open Campdraft Final saw some of the hottest horse and rider combinations in the game at the moment come to the table for a shot at taking home the title.

Rob Leach and LC Partnerships talented Conman stallion “Hazelwood Congressman” are on fire at the moment, adding an 86 in the final to a 90 from the first round be crowned 2018 Open Champion at this years Toowoomba Supreme with a total of 176. Phillip McCormack on his and Gloria’s “Clearchoice Kate Kelly” came in a close 2nd, adding a scorching 90 to an 84 for 174.

Peter Green on Jim Greens “Champ” was 3rd on 172 and equal 4/5/6th were Leah Read on Nicolas and Joanne Markwells “Sahara”, Jon Templeton on his “Contrast” and Jim Green on his “Leroy” - all with 171.

There was hot competition in the Black Truck Sales Novice final tonight, with some great runs being put on the board - the total scores just show you how close of a battle it was!

Bill Tonkin on “Jesse” ran an 89 to snatch the title in a tight field, with a total score of 172. You can take this gelding home tomorrow fresh from his win - he is Lot 175 in the sale catalogue!

In a close equal 2nd/3rd place was Glenn Evans on Dan & Jenny Redgens stallion “Kirkbys Stud Credit” and Joshua Smith on his “Rey’s Dual Oak”, both on 171. Wade Clarke on “Skinny Love” and a member of the green team - Brodie Hurley - on “Little Sussie” were equal 4th/5th on 170.

The last event for the evening was the new Riverina Stock Feeds Champion of Champions event, which took the top 3 placed combinations from each campdraft into a clean slate round.

It really was a nail biting finish, with Phillip McCormack putting another one round on "Clearchoice Kate Kelly" to win a run-off against Peter Green on Jim Greens "Champ". Masters winner Joe Payne on Grant Telfords "My T Cat" came in 3rd, Brett Welsh on his "John Chisum" were 4th and 5&U Campdraft winner Shane Courbould on "Duckster" was 5th.
