New Sale Records set at the 2017 Toowoomba Supreme Sale with the 207 lots sold, this event goes from strength to strength - cementing it's place at the top of the performance horse sale ladder in Queensland.
The second year with the new format proved again successful, with the Sale Gross reaching a new record of $1,342,500. The preworks and sale were livestreamed with nearly 13,000 views world wide including the US, Canada, Belgium and Germany.
Simon Booth said this success is a great indication of the increased sale incentives to $20,000 for the 2 year Challenge and Sylvia Vale Stock Horses & Seifert Belmonts $5000 Challenge and Draft for 5yrs and Under. The campdraft program included the $8000 Landmark Supreme Campdraft for 5yrs & Under and the Lemontree Feedlot Masters Campdraft also worth $8000. There was increased entries also for the Black Truck Sales Novice Campdraft worth $10,000 and the Leicht's CIA Open Campdraft worth $6,000.
With increased support this sale is growing bigger and better each year and a credit to the Landmark Toowoomba team.
Vendors came from all over Queensland, NSW and as far as Victoria. Horses have again been purchased from five states including SA, Victoria, NSW, QLD and heading to the Northern Territory.
Yearlings again sold well with the first lot of the sale SMITH FAMILY VALENTINE (Hazelwood Conman x Knights Rachel) sold at the first fall of the hammer for $30,000
Top of the sale was Phillip & Gloria McCormacks filly Lot 73 CLEARCHOICE CONTIKI (Hazelwood Conman x Clearchoice Roma Ria), who also topped the filly's and set a new sale record for led yearling fillies.
Top Priced Yearling Colt was Lot 97 CASTLES CONSPICUOUS offered by Tony Castle from Castle Performance Horses sold for $14,000 (Hazelwood Conman x Jade Jasmin)
Top Priced Yearling Gelding was Lot 95 NONDA COMPASS offered by Plaintrees Farm sold for $7,500 (Hazelwood Conman x Nonda Dottie Papunya)
Ridden Geldings enjoyed their time in the ring on Sunday with vendors hard work paying off reaching a new sale record of $19,000 with equal top price.
First Gelding out Sunday morning was equal top price gelding Lot 164 RATHCOOL WOLVERINE offered by Ben & Hayley Hutton.
This set a great run, as they were immediately followed by Lot 165 OAKS ACTOR $14,000 and Lot 166 SPIN N MALOO $13,000.
Lot 187 MY T CAT offered by Greg & Andrea Lithgow from Chincilla QLD, also sold for $19,000. MY T CAT is by Intricatolena out of Starbar Fortynine and was purchased by Macaroni Contractors.
Gelding Average was $7,448.
Top Price Mare was offered by Hugh Miles from Dungowan NSW. Lot 242 CRYSTAL ACRES (Acres Destiny x Jewel Jazz) was sold to Brad & Yasmin Vidler for $27,000.
Mare Average was $9,119.
$7,000 was paid for the top price stallion Lot 199 CE PEPTO PLAYBOY offered by Gina Drew.
Stallion Average was $6,750.
PTIF Mare Top was Lot 43 PEELVALE CONTRAST offered by Hugh Miles sold for $12,000 (Hazelwood Conman x Peelvale Star Signora)
PTIF Mare & Foal Top was Lot 101 DANDILLA MIST IN MAT offered by Dandilla Pastoral Co. sold for $9,000 (Blue Moon Mystic x Oakey Creek Gwen D)
The sale has proven itself to be included on the performance horse calendar with strong support it will only increase in incentives and size.

Dugowan Competitor Hugh Miles placed first in the Black Truck Sales Novice with Dually Teles, with Joe Payne and Concept placing second and equal third and fourth was Shane Corbould riding Dream and Mat Durkin riding Grady.
Ray Hawke proved too strong scoring a total of 143 with Dee Bar Ellie Boom in the Lemontree Feedlot Masters Campdraft for 6yr old horses. Gina Drews entry Lethal Ce Cera ridden by Brett Welsh placed second with 137 and Dean Stephen place third riding Driscolls Integerity.
The hotly contested 2017 Landmark Supreme Campdraft for 5yrs and Under had 9 competitors through to the final and was won by Heidi Gillet on her horse Fergalicious with a total score of 162. Qld trainer Nathan Wilson placed second on Ladybrook Missey, also taking out highest cut out with a 23. Rob Leach from Tamworth and his entry QXH Stylish Centrefold placed third.
The Open Final sponsored by Leitch's CIA was close in the final placings with Troy Palmer and his outstanding mare Lareena taking the win by just two points from Mat Durkin riding Grady.
The $5000 Sylvia Vale Stock Horses & Seifort Belmont 5yrs & Under Challenge was won convincinly by Gunnedah competitor Michael Wilson riding the Field Family Partnership entry, Nandeye Destinys Dream. Second place went to Stephen Kelly riding Hell Reysn Spin and third place was narrowly won by Brett Welsh by just half a point riding Combanning Downs Elect.
The $20,000 Incentive for the 2yr Challenge saw the largest entries this year and congratulations to Allan Wallen riding QXH Casanova scoring a total of 249.50 to take the win. Owner is son Ryan, who purchased Casanova last year and has put all the work into him and was only unable to ride him in competition due to a recent injury. Second place went to Jack McGugan riding JT Electric Oak and Allan also took third place with his entry, Dandilla Colanne.
